The Queensland Race Walking Club was established in 1955 as a means of providing regular road walking competition for race walkers and to build  interest in the sport and has had member athletes compete with distinction at State, National and International level. The Club is proud to be one of only a few athletic clubs that run its own full season of competition and has for many years run State Championships on behalf of Queensland Athletics.

The Club has the following six Life Members:

- David Smith

- Peter Bennett

- Joyce Petfield

- Noela McKinven

The Andrew Ludwig Memorial "True Sport Award" has been awarded to:

- Robyn Wales

- Ignacio (aka Iggy) Jimenez

- Shane Pearson

These people have provided outstanding service to the club and the sport over the years from the inception of the club till the present day.

Affiliation

The Queensland Race Walking Club is affiliated with Queensland Athletics and the Federation of Australian Racewalking Clubs.
